The day...

The sun painted the sky with splashes of yellow
Our path was paved with mountains so high

Earnest and happy were the memories we made
Sweet was the lingering taste long after

Trees seemed to sway in tune with the music
We drove along wishing we could capture it all

No painting could rightly portray
Yet several tried mesmerized sans doute

As it stretched in front of my eyes
An expanse of blue , blue and more blue

I couldn't but feel more thankful
For you see, it was the day I saw the Pacific Ocean.

p.s - my first attempt at penning a poem. neither the poem nor the oil painting is perfect, but I prefer to leave it that way :)

Reflections, thanks it was an amateurish attempt but I felt completely poetic and all that, caught up in that moment with the vast ocean in front of my eyes.

V, such a beautiful way of putting it. Truly!! I am so glad it struck a common chord:-)
