Wind beneath my wings

I'm on a painting spree this year.I finished this Mysore painting a month ago.I've always wanted to do Yashoda-Krishna (mums are the best right) and settled on this picture since it was naughty and uncommon. I turned Bangalore inside-out & upside-down searching for authentic Chettinad frames. Finally found an exclusive store very close to my house! Irony ;-) In Chennai I know there are plenty of shops but I didn't want to risk possible damage to my painting during travel. I'm simply falling in love with the frame everytime I see it.  Before you ask, this doesn't hang in my home yet- there's no place. Even if you aren't going to ask, this isn't on sale. It won't ever be either. Lastly, holiday-hangover so that's all I can manage for now !! :-) I'm enjoying the rains, are you?!

p.s. will get my brother to take a better picture soon.

These two are some pair, aren't they! Krishna is supposed to open his mouth wide, no?

At one time, some kids were enacting that scene in a dance and the Krishna girl had to keep her mouth wide open for a long time while the other kids dance around her. "My mouth is paining", complains the poor thing :)

You have serious talent girl! The window behind them, the jewelery, the attention to detail.. Very nice. :)

Wow!! it's so beautiful and I love the frame too. You chose a good one after turning bengaluru upside-down :) It's really good. I am confused about one thing. Why do you have a blue bubble over his head?

Insignia, You're in for a treat. I went for classes to a lady in Indiranagar only. Give me your e-mail ID for more details.

gils, should've known you would never give me a 'proper' compliment. Nice. I like the insult. But don't forget - Pot always calls the kettle black!;-p

Shilpa Garg, Thank Yous!!!:-))It isn't rainy season here either. These are just occasional showers(mango showers).

evanescentthoughts, LoL..The blue circle is akin to a halo - signifying divine presence you see!!;-)

Swaram, thaaaank You!!!!

V, Of course. I should be the one thanking you!!:)Thanks for reading!

UmaS, I totally forgot about Mothers Day till I read your post last night. Thanks:-)

vimmuuu, thank you !! Even if you offered to buy it , I'd think twice before selling it to you. I've read wayyy too much about your fetish for bathrooms & toilets!!!!!:-D

sonal, heee..thanks!!!! I'll hold a pvt exhibition for you. Speaking of dowry,I know I'm pushing it too far by saying this but isn't the painter's worth much more than the paintings will ever be;-D My only chance to show-off(couldn't resist)!

beautiful :) girl paint more! please do..
and thanks for the link. I got to know so many nice things about Mysore painting. and btw what is Pure Mysore Gold Leaf? came across on the website.

did you try Van Gogh's near Trinity circle? They have pretty good frames.

sm said...

very nice pic

lostworld said...

Shruthi, U know the gold foil used for mysore painting is so so fine (it cannot be lifted with fingers). Has to be picked up & placed with a wet brush. They call this gold-pure mysore gold leaf. For Tanjore, silver foil dipped in gold is used. In my photo here, the gold isn't even properly visible as it is wafer thin. See their jewels.
I've been to Van Gogh's and have given one of my glass paintings couple of yrs back. They're amazing & have very stylish frames but mostly for oil/acrylic works. I got the chettinad frame in Tarang Arts (Jayanagar). For my other paintings, I go to Frame Define(JP Nagar-right opp. Rangashankara)!:)

sm, thank you!!

Uma said...

WOW!! Awesome! Frame compliments the painting very well! Are you planning an exhibition of sorts sometime soon?

Aryan-Arjun said...

so so so good....are u sure it is not for sale??

lostworld said...

Uma, you're giving me grand ideas ;-) No exhibition planned. Maybe, or should I say hopefully I'll be good enough to hold one in the next 5-6 years :-)

Aryan, thank you!! It is way too precious to consider selling :-)

Mohan said...

Ro, i have been telling you and will repeat here again. You should do painting more often. Great one for sure! Though you need to master taking a photograph, you are a master in painting.

Who doesn't like rains here.... probably that could be your next subject of art?

Pink Mango Tree said...

Wow lovely!!!! Simply, out-of-the-world :) :) :)

Please read my reply to your comments in my post. Thanks.

Hey Ro, do you go to some painting classes or do you know any good ones? I really want to join for some painting classes in Bangalore. Can you help me? :)

lostworld said...

Mohan, I think I'll be extra efficient at work today thanks to your comment :-)) I'll post rain paintings when I do one of course. Haven't done any so far. My photography..yes :'( I know.

SG, oh you're back! Yeah I cannot sell this for any price! ;-) thanks!!

evanescentthoughts, I learnt in Indiranagar. I'll msg/mail you the details. I don't go anymore though & I don't know any others. Check on sulekha/ask laila for classes near where you live.If you are really serious, Chitrakala Parishad also has some well-designed courses.

So much praise must be nauseating. I foresaw this and suppressed any temptation to write good things... Yashoda's saree... well, nothing.. never mind.

lostworld said...

uptake, you cannot stand the thought of me getting all the attention, can you!;-p Every dog has its day so watch out!!!:-)

Indy, That was just what I thought when I saw the picture first-I loved the moment. There's a saying 'Some mothers are kissing mothers and some are scolding mothers, but it is love just the same' (was suddenly reminded of that)!:-)
