Seven 'piddly' things - a random post!

Nancy was kind enough to award me " the Versatile Blogger" award which is accompanied by a very difficult tag in tow while I was on my self-imposed break. Thanks so much!!

I am all set to get back to blogging with this tag, but please allow me to break some rules along the way.

1. I stopped blogging but didn't stop painting. I don't think I can ever. It has now become something I can't live without. I miss my paints, brushes and sheets even when I am on holidays. I love art galleries, art supply stores, art books, artsy cities.. and Artists!!! :)

2. I am a morning person. I can get up at 5am or even 4 am if I have to. I even did this once to finish a student's painting. ( I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams last year - to be a full time art teacher!! )

3. The first book I read on the Kindle App was 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins. Well, books cannot be replaced at all but this was more out of urgency. At the local library, I am on wait list # 654 or around that. I am eagerly waiting to read the next two.

4. I learnt pencil sketching and portraiture recently and now, I am on a sketching spree. I have sketches of pots, pans, couches, cakes, boats, etc - anything and everything that appeals to me. I am still learning though and believe it or not, I learn from a book. My first sketch was done in a new house with barely any furniture or stuff. We had just moved and I sat put in one corner of an empty house trying to sketch. I didn't stop even after we settled down!

5. Last year I traveled a lot and saw so many facets of India. I cherished the experience so much , each place was so different. I can't even begin to express. (it may also be because i haven't blogged for so long) Its so tough to pick a favorite, but if i absolutely had to, I guess I'd oscillate between Udaipur and Kumarakom.

6. What I miss most about Bangalore is 9XM. Yes, the music channel. Why i associate it only with Bangalore is a mystery even to me. Maybe its the room where i always watched tv eating / reading etc . I love songs and I was always up to date about all the recent releases. I just miss not even knowing which movie is coming out soon and what's the latest hit item number. No, the numerous radio stations and YouTube are not the same. I even miss the poor jokes the cartoon characters in 9XM cracked.

7. Yay, the last one! I have no appetite as such but I cannot skip breakfast. Any other meal I hardly care about. I eat because I have to. I can survive on fruits, greens etc too. But I need a heavy breakfast always. Complete with a tall glass of milk! :)

There! I did it. That wasn't so hard.

I am not able to add pictures now so I would do that once I figure out what the problem is. For the longest time, I just didn't have my laptop and so I put off blogging. I hope I shall stick to it this time. I intend to share my sketches at the very least. I am writing all this more for myself than for anyone as I doubt anyone even passes by this page anymore :-D
