Bangalore is infamous for ??
* Traffic jams
* Power cuts
* Mall rats ;-)
Where I live, the story of power cuts is quite bad and the generator activation, maintenance etc is all in progress :-P We live in first floor and never use the elevator. Occasionally my dad used to use it but he was worried he'd be trapped during a power cut. One evening, my mom and I returned after some heavy-duty shopping. The back seat of the car was filled with all our purchases. Mom unloaded and transferred everything to the elevator. As I was parking the car, I noticed she shut the elevator without getting in.. & climbed up. I wondered what was wrong. I parked and in the first floor saw her unloading everything from the elevator. Certain that I missed something, I asked her how did she get here. She replied that she does this often. All the baggage would be shut in the elevator and would travel to first floor unattended !!!! Reason - In case of power cut, she didn't want to remain stuck in there :-)
.... and you ask me how I manage to come up with hilarious stories from time to time ! Need I say more?

Me first.. Yippie ..
err... I just hate traffic jams!!!
Even heard about ppl being trapped in the elevator on power cuts, haven't experienced it in first hand.... Dunno whether to feel fortunate or unfortunate for this...
Guess ur mom is brilliant... Do you have this gene of ur mom in u???
yeah traffic jams n power cuts are really bad, imagine exam times and ppl who can't affort inverters or generators...lets hope for some new invention to solve this energy crisis...as for traffic jams...donno how many more flyovers B'lore wud require to solve this problem and the problems of corruptions it may lead to....
Hey ur mum is brilliant...getting stuck in the elevator is really a pain...i remember being stuck in for 45mins in an elevator once that too in summers...had first hand experience of being a cake baked in an oven...
What if the power went off leaving all your baggage locked inside the elevator !! :-)) ... i guess some unsuspecting neighbor of yours might get lucky one day and be blessed with his entire monthly shopping list waiting for him in the elevator !!
:-)
My favorite in the city are the traffic jams , with evryone honking endlessly (as if its going to move the traffic ) ...
That is called experience! Sheer common sense. I liked the idea for sure :)
I liked the post very much. May be your head is still not back to normal conditions after that Rs 450/- worth effort, but kudos to your mom!
Oh hw sweet of her :)
Pass on my hugs to her will ya :)
hahahahah .. i love this idea :D
sonal - Yus yus! First and best ;-)
Bala - Thankfully, I haven't been stuck in the elevator either. Nope, I don't possess the intelligent streak of my mom! I'm just saying that b'cos I know she reads my blog at times.
Urmil - Oh ya I have suffered too b'cos of power cuts before exams. I used to get worked up & cranky & pretend as though I was I would flunk. Oh flyovers, don't get me started-- My daily route is full of flyover & metro constructions!
45 mins !!!! No rescue squad around I presume.. Poor you!
Neo - Ya that'd be funny for sure.
During traffic, I guess thats' the best outlet for ppl..honk away so that your 'vehicle' is heard even if you aren't!
Mohan - Hee hee, Yes head is undergoing some serious trauma.. Glad to know you still liked it. I shall tell my mom. Might inspire her to come up more such gems.
Swaram - Certainly! :-) Thanks a lot!!
Shruthi - :-) Me too!

Shruti - Judging by the responses so far, it definitely looks like my mom will have the last laugh :) My dad is also a proud member of the honking club! :P and has been trying to induct me too ever since I learnt to drive.
