Pot pourri

I have decided to be 'postless' for a while until I think of something profound to mention in this blog! Zilch. I suppose this is called writers` block. Everytime I login to blogger, my brain is clogged. Write, Type, Make a beginning, (I tell myself) but no avail. For the last 1-2 days, I convinced myself it was simply starting trouble but I am now prepared to believe it is writers` block , mental block, switching off the clock or any other fundoo term. As long as one can put a name to it, things are fine. Just fine. I know there's no pressing need to publish a post when one cannot write ( I mean, blogging shouldn't be a chore or duty) but I feel awful neglecting my blog. Oh and I don't want to give up that easily ;-) I added this picture in the hope of cooking up a story and basing the characters on those 2 in the pot ( I painted them all a few years back :-) ).  But here, I couldn't decide whether the lady & the guy ought to get married eventually. You see, the lady pot is in Chennai at the moment !! As for the guy, I wanted to etch his role similar to a charismatic character from a recent novel I had read but I don't fancy men with moustaches all that much so gave up on that. All my vascillations have led to me believe that I should probably leave those 2 peaceful on the pot (where they will always belong).

By the way, April Fool's Day is around the corner. There used to be a time when I would think hard and come up with a foolproof plan , execute it to perfection on an unsuspecting soul. This year, I can't even decide on whom to fool. A year ago, I called my colleague and we stepped out of our office building. I had this serious face & told her it was very important. She was so concerned she came out without wearing her sandals. I hatched up a story that her manager got wind of her plans to quit & he was angry. Her face fell and she started insisting 'how?! noone knows but you' and then rambling  'maybe I should go talk to him right away' , and so on for 2-3 minutes. I really didn't want to prolong her misery (and I couldn't control my laughter) so I interrupted her and trilled 'April fooool'. I was called 'gadhee'  (donkey) the whole week but it was worth it. Rajlakshmi recently passed on the "Mischief maker" award & I feel compelled to live upto the tag.  I doubt I will pull off a blog-prank but I managed to get you all to read what I have published as a sorry excuse for a post .. and that for now, will do nicely! Thanks and please bear with me.. Until next time, do make me proud and fool someone (a harmless prank remember)!! ;-)

** Thank you MindfulMeanderer for your tips on how to add watermark etc. You're the best!

For some reason, I can't see the picture :-(

You know, I never, ever know what I am gonna blog about when I sit down to blog... then the fingers start typing.

The words are in there, don't resist them. But don't force them either. Oh and by the way, I have no idea what I am talking about so please take my " expert advice" with a grain of salt :-)

areyy, its ok. writers block happens to everyone ! As you mentioned, dont take blogging as a routine. Write whenever you feel like rather than forcing yourself to. your uneasiness in writing would reflect in the post too !

I cant imagine I am giving advices !! :D :D :D :D

Remember the good old saying- "idle brain is evils workshop"? To keep myself occupied all the time, I think of many things that come across my mind and give it a shape and soon it becomes an article on my blog :) Try this out, you *might* get over the so called 'Writers Block'.

Awesome paintings!! I told you sometime back and saying it again. You are a cool artist, keep these coming more often.

He he. Thats is why i don;t write u see.. because i don;t get many ideas to write.. and if u have to think hard for writing then there is no point :) ..

Actually, I get ideas to blog, while I am watching TV or cooking or drying clothes - the idea catches me off-guard. And I immediately write it down, so that I dont forget it.

Other times, I just sit and write what comes to my mind, after I open the editor window.

Anyway, the pots and the paintings are awesome. Simply brilliant. Love them.

Some people make serious pranks, but I feel its better not to prolong it:)

I agree to Insignia that tags are the saving grace when we have nothing to write.

We all get there when the page stays blank to match the mind. I then remember it is my blog and I'll blog when I want to and persue do something totally different. Pretty soon, something will happen and you will think "that would make a good blog" and off you go again.
Recharge the batteries. We will be right here till you get back.
Love the word "gadhee" and will probably steal it.

Rajlakshmi said...

you will be soon overcome writer's block... I want to fool but people are becoming more intelligent these days... or maybe my pranks are too old fashioned :P

Agnes, Advice taken with the salt & spices!! :-))Usually the words flow..But I guess my brain has decided to switch off. Looks like you're the only one who couldn't see the pic. Hope it is visible when you revisit!

vimmuuu, Yeah I'm gonna ignore my blog for a while & come back when I've missed it sufficiently:) What you said makes perfect sense;-0

Mohan, I'm never idle usually & I have a lot of ideas but putting them down is seemingly difficult. Thanks a lot!!!!Will post more paintings:)

Shruthi, Go girl!! You will be ultra cool even when you fool!(I must stop the rhymes!). Btw our Vimzy has had the 'shaadi ka laddoo' so we should get used to it-They all start advising!;-D My colleagues do it. Hehehe..lets wait for V's rejoinder(if he reads my comment)!!

sonal, Even I didn't start blogging knowing I would always have a topic to write about. Writing about not knowing what to write is also an idea btw:)

umsreflections, Thaaank you very much!!!! Wow, but yes your dedication towards blogging shines through in all your posts Uma:-) I have no clue what I'm going to write usually..totally impromptu:)

Indy, welcome here:) Same pinch but I see you got out of it real quick. Lot of new nice posts already :) Lets see if something happens on Apr 1st.

Swaram, what would I do without you?! :) Maybe I'll read my archive too for inspiration;) If I had all the time in the world, I'd make paintings for all my friends(who I know appreciate art the way I do). Thaaank you soooo much!!:):)

Insignia, tags are a good idea. thanks:) I might be going to Chennai soon so I'll take the man along & then DDLJ :-))

gils, me the fun! no danger at all:)

Samvedna, yeah, it leaves a bad taste & no longer remains a joke if limit is crossed!

Arkansas Patti, I have a long weekend coming up.Recharging is prio numero uno! Thanks for the endless encouragement!!!! You can use gadhee, just not on me!!Heee;-p

Rajlakshmi, I can give you a small tip - Pick a subject & fool them with something specific going on in their lives right now. Trust me, it'll work :)

Dhanya, I'm hoping too. After all, how long can one shut me up! ;)

I like the woodsy effect of your blog. The only way to overcome a writer's block is to continue writing your way through it. You may or may not publish it.
